A 60 year-old white male referred by his PCP presented with right “shoulder, arm, back ache and numbness” and “numbness in fingers of right hand” which had been present for the past three months without change. The symptoms were worsened with sleep and movement and nothing seemed to give him relief.

Examination of the patient revealed moderately restricted range of motion in the neck with slight to moderate pain. The pain was described as “deep, achy, boring” in nature and was located in the right side of the neck and radiated down into the right shoulder and upper back.

The patient was treated three times a week for four weeks for a total of 12 visits. On his twelfth visit, the patient was re-examined. His range of motion was restored to within normal limits and he was no longer experiencing pain or numbness in his neck, shoulder arm or fingers. Patient was released from active care.
